Hey there-- great conversations-I'm just skimming this briefly between classes-would love to respond to several comments-but overall, my first thought is there seems to be a crossing over between what is science and what is technology. Technology is the human attempt of making things better, easier.(when nature does this we call it adaptation/evolution...) But to me, science is NOT goal oriented. Science is simply a process of how to study different things in the world around us-both living and non-living.When science becomes goal-oriented (and this is where most experiments go wrong) it is not really science any more. It's like you can't see the forest because of the trees!
